ELCHI Srl has been producing high-quality thermosetting moulding materials since 1973.
The company has 8 different production lines to meet every kind of need, from 1 kg to 100 tonnes/month. ELCHI’s production capacity is 3,000 tonnes/year.
Moulding characteristics
The material is processed by heating it in granular form and forcing it into the mould, using various technologies, in a mould heated to a high temperature (150-180°C). A polycondensation or free-radical polymerisation reaction takes place, creating a three-dimensional molecular network. The most common techniques are compression moulding, transfer moulding and injection moulding.
Material characteristics
Once moulded, these special plastics are absolutely infusible and cannot be attacked by acidic or basic substances. The surface is very hard and not easily scratched. They are also particularly dimensionally stable and have excellent electrical properties. Thanks to 40 years of experience in the sector, ELCHI is able to produce materials with the widest range of characteristics.
