Since 1973 Elchi SpA has been producing thermosetting
moulding compounds with the highest quality. Elchi developed
8 different lines to satisfy every kind of request,
from 1 Kg to 100 Kg Ton per month. Production capacity
is 3.000 Ton per year.
Moulding Quality
The transformation works by heating the granules pushing
it, using different technologies, inside a pre-heated
mould (150 - 180 degree Celsius). Inside the mould a
poly-condensation reaction takes place and the granules
become a three-dimensional molecular reticule. More
common techniques are compression moulding, transfer
moulding and injection moulding.
Moulding Compound Quality
These peculiar plastic material,once moulded, are not
meltable and acid and basic substance proof. The surface
is hard and difficult to carve. In addition once moulded
the moulding compounds have extremely high dimensional
stability and have electrical characteristics. Elchi,
thanking many decades of experience within this sector,
is able to produce moulding compounds with a wide variety
of qualities.
